Solid watch, minor shipping issue

I ordered the Maranez Layan with the green dial. The watch itself is very good, love the vintage look and the bronze case. It keeps good time and the Super-LumiNova is bright. Shipping took a bit longer than I hoped, about 10 days to reach me in California, and tracking updates were sparse. I had to email customer service once to check on it, but they responded within a day. The watch was well-protected in its travel case. Overall, I'm satisfied with the watch and the price for a microbrand, but the shipping communication could be better.

Absolutely love my new Samui!

Just received my Maranez Samui and it's fantastic! The build quality is superb, and the dial just pops. I got the version with the mesh bracelet and it's so comfortable on the wrist. This is my first bronze watch and I'm already seeing the patina starting to form which is super cool. I'm already thinking about my next Maranez purchase. Highly recommend their watches!

It ships from Asia, so it can take a bit. I got my Karon in about 2.5 weeks to LA. It wasn't super fast but not terrible either.

Nah, they're legit. I've got a Rawai and a Bangla, both solid. The sapphire crystal is a nice touch and the movements are reliable, not some random cheap stuff.

They're a proper microbrand, def not a 'mushroom' company. Had my Layan for like 3 years, still looks and runs great. Compared to some other brands in this price range, their build quality is really good for the money.

Both are solid microbrands. Maranez often has more of that vintage tool watch vibe, especially with the brass/bronze options and classic designs. Zelos can be a bit more modern or flashy sometimes, with more color options. Depends on your style really.

I've owned watches from both. Maranez feels a bit more rugged and less 'precious' if that makes sense, good for actual diving or just beating around. Zelos is great but sometimes their designs are a bit busy for me. For a classic diver, Maranez edges it out imo.

I returned a strap once, it was pretty straightforward. Just contact them within the return window. They'll give you instructions, usually you pay for return shipping though.

Yeah, returns were easy, did it last month. Just make sure it's in new condition, obviously. I think they give you a couple of weeks to decide from when you get it.
